took Drama and Theater at A Level and got an A* in my performances. I also took part in various school productions and was known to perform well. However, I decided to take Graphic Design at University which has always been a regret of mine. I was stuck at the age of 18 on whether I should pursue something more practical or not. Alas, that choice haunted me throughout my undergrad because, when you feel as passionately about something as I do about acting and singing- you simply can't stay away from it. I quit my 9-6 job and decided to go for it this year. I have an acting coach and singing coach I currently train with and have been training with for six months. I just did a short course at LAMDA which taught me so much and really ignited my passion for theater even more. I am currently working on my show reel with my acting coach and educating myself on acting with books. I plan do do a one year course next year on acting. In the meantime, I am looking for short films or plays I can take part in to build my CV. I recently got cast in Sherlock Holmes the play, in which I will be playing Mary Mortsen. I will also be appearing as one of the backing cast in the ' Amazing Dubai Musical'.
I really believe that singing and acting takes people to another place and really feeds their soul. Which is why I have always loved to perform. I want to touch people's souls with my work and help them escape their hectic lives for a while. I remember the first time I went on stage like it was yesterday, I had never felt more at home anywhere else. The energy in that moment is so wonderful. I knew then and there that this what I am meant to do. It was just... right. I think good actors have an obsession with telling a story and making people feel something for things they never expected to feel something about. A performance has the power to change people's lives. I truly believe that, be that in a film or on stage.
